cherry-pick fedora packages
most linux distros come with a package manager; but sometimes we need access to the raw package file; it is usually not difficult to find the exact package url; but doing so again and again is boring; it would be great if a nice guy provides shortcuts allowing a direct jump to the goal;
alright, i admit i am the nice guy; i will do it here for fedora; for those who are impatient, i paste the direct links that will lead you to the package files:
-
fedora (.rpm):
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/31/Everything/x86_64/os/Packages/
-
fedora-source (.src.rpm):
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/31/Everything/source/tree/Packages/
-
updates (.rpm):
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/updates/31/Everything/x86_64/Packages/
-
updates-source (.src.rpm):
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/updates/31/Everything/SRPMS/Packages/
obviously, these links are for fedora 31
on a x86_64
os; it is easy to adapt
for other releasever
and basearch
;
for those who are still interested in reading, there are even more great links:
-
fedora public active mirrors:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mirrormanager/
this page is a glossary of fedora mirrors for all
releasever
andbasearch
; this means, you can always get the one you want, if it exists; -
clicking into a specific (
releasever
,basearch
) setting jumps to a page like this:https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mirrormanager/mirrors/Fedora/31/x86_64
this page lists all currently active mirrors for this specific setting;
-
metalinks:
for those who want mirrors that are local to themselves, we must never forget metalinks:
-
fedora (.rpm):
https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-31&arch=x86_64
-
fedora-source (.src.rpm):
https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-source-31&arch=x86_64
-
updates (.rpm):
https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=updates-released-f31&arch=x86_64
-
updates-source (.src.rpm):
https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=updates-released-source-f31&arch=x86_64
these links all point to one level above the package dirs; to browse package files, just click
Packages
; packages are organized by initial letters; one more click lists the actual package files; -
all above should make rpm and srpm cherry picks much easier now;
